This is not tourism but a shared reflection, in motion.
About me
I’m Cecilia Rubino. I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and have family roots in Calabria, Italy.
I hold a degree in Art History and a Master’s in Education in Cultural Institutions. I began working as a guide almost by chance while still at university, leading visits at the Teatro Colón and the National Museum of Fine Arts. From the very beginning, I discovered that sharing knowledge — and creating space for dialogue — was not simply a job, but a vocation.
Over time, I specialized in guiding travelers through cultural, historical, and artistic heritage with context, nuance, and critical perspective.
I arrived in Lisbon eleven years ago, drawn by the Portuguese language, which I had studied in Buenos Aires, and by the desire to live in a city layered with history and complexity. The city captivated me from the start — through its light, its character, and its contradictions.
Since then, I have continued to study it deeply. Today, Lisbon has become both my object of research and a place of personal affection. With care and intellectual curiosity, I share it with those who wish to encounter the city beyond the obvious.

LISBON
Lisbon, Beyond the Postcards
An introduction to Lisbon through context, nuance and conversation.
This curated walk explores the cultural, historical and symbolic foundations of the city — offering more than landmarks and dates. Together, we decode Lisbon’s traditions, political transformations, literary echoes and everyday rituals.
We visit iconic sites, but we look at them differently. Beyond the façades, we ask how the city was shaped, who shaped it, and what stories still linger beneath the surface.
Our route winds through small streets and steep hills, embracing Lisbon’s rhythm. From the panoramic view of São Pedro de Alcântara to Bairro Alto and Chiado, from Largo do Carmo to the ordered geometry of Baixa Pombalina, and into the labyrinthine streets of Alfama and Mouraria — we move between myth and modernity, monument and memory.
This walk invites you not only to see Lisbon, but to understand it.

Bites
Bites with a History
Food is an art form.
Egg yolks and sugar alone do not make a pastel de nata. It takes technique, memory, and imagination. Traditional dishes that endure over time reflect a deep relationship between people and territory — they tell stories of trade, scarcity, celebration, and identity.
This sensory walk invites you to explore Lisbon through its flavors, while understanding the cultural and historical context behind what we eat. Because in Lisbon, food is never just food — it is heritage.
We will visit historic vendors, some of which have been operating for more than a century, quietly shaping the city’s character. Along the way, we will also pause at significant buildings and squares, connecting gastronomy with architecture, politics, and daily life.
The experience includes a selection of Lisbon’s most representative tastes. Each tour is thoughtfully curated according to your interests, preferences, and the areas of the city you wish to explore. No two walks are identical.
Expect sweets, pork, fish, wine, beer — and between five and six carefully chosen stops that together compose a portrait of Lisbon’s culinary soul.

SINTRA
Sintra, the mountain of the moon.
Decoding a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape.
At the westernmost edge of Europe lies Sintra — an enchanted mountain just 45 minutes from Lisbon and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This extraordinary cultural landscape has fascinated civilizations since prehistoric times, blending nature, symbolism, and architecture in a way found nowhere else in Europe.
Known as Portugal’s most “romantic” village, Sintra has long inspired artists and travelers alike. Figures such as Lord Byron, Hans Christian Andersen, and Richard Strauss were deeply moved by its atmosphere, leaving behind poetry, stories, and music born from this magical place.
A muse for poets, a retreat for monks, and a playground for royalty, Sintra is rich with layered histories and stories waiting to be explored. On this full or half-day walk, I will design the itinerary according to your interests and the time we have. We can meet directly in Sintra and move around using public transport, or I can arrange private transportation if preferred. Together, we will uncover the mysticism, history, and beauty of this unique landscape.

Belém
Belém, understand the Birthplace of the Global World
This experience focuses on the golden age of Portuguese history: the Age of Discoveries.
Together, we will explore how the modern and global world emerged, and why Portugal played such a central role.
During our walk in Belém, we will uncover the stories behind iconic landmarks, including the Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoveries, and the Belém Tower — each a witness to Portugal’s maritime ambition and historical reach.
The itinerary is flexible and will be adapted to your interests and pace. We can explore Belém on foot, move around with public transport, or I can organize private transportation if preferred. Optional activities, such as a boat ride on the Tagus River or nearby lunch suggestions, can be included to complete the experience.
Through history, architecture, and personal stories, this walk invites you to understand the forces that shaped Portugal and the wider world — and to see Lisbon from a global perspective.
